Temporal and Spatial Variations of Soil Moisture Over Xinjiang Based on Multiple GLDAS Datasets

چکیده
Under the global warming, as typical arid region of Central Asia, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (Xinjiang) has been experienced remarkable warming and increased precipitation based on large previous studies. The semiarid ecosystem is very sensitive vulnerable to climate change water resource variations. However, sparse highly unevenly distributed in-situ stations in this provide limited data for understanding soil moisture In study, spatial temporal changes variations were explored at annual seasonal time scales during period 2000–2017. are from Global Land Data Assimilation System (GLDAS) models, including four GLDAS 1 models: CLM, Mosaic, VIC Noah 2.7 one 2.1 model: 3.3. Spatial and Temporal Variability of Soil Moisture
The characterization of temporal and spatial variability of soil moisture is highly relevant for understanding the many hydrological processes, to model the processes better and to apply them to conservation planning. Considerable variability in space and time coupled with inadequate and uneven distribution of irrigation water results in uneven yield in an area Spatial and temporal variability ...
متن کاملReconciling spatial and temporal soil moisture effects on afternoon rainfall
Soil moisture impacts on precipitation have been strongly debated. Recent observational evidence of afternoon rain falling preferentially over land parcels that are drier than the surrounding areas (negative spatial effect), contrasts with previous reports of a predominant positive temporal effect. However, whether spatial effects relating to soil moisture heterogeneity translate into similar t...

متن کاملImpacts of Re-Vegetation on Surface Soil Moisture over the Chinese Loess Plateau Based on Remote Sensing Datasets
A large-scale re-vegetation supported by the Grain for Green Project (GGP) has greatly changed local eco-hydrological systems, with an impact on soil moisture conditions for the Chinese Loess Plateau. It is important to know how, exactly, re-vegetation influences soil moisture conditions, which not only crucially constrain growth and distribution of vegetation, and hence, further re-vegetation,...
متن کاملSpatial soil moisture scaling structure during Soil Moisture Experiment 2005
Soil moisture state and variability control many hydrological and ecological processes as well as exchanges of energy and water between the land surface and the atmosphere. However, its state and variability are poorly understood at spatial scales larger than the fields (i.e. 1 km2) as well as the ability to extrapolate field scale to larger spatial scales. This study investigates soil moisture...
